Based in Leeds and reporting to the IT Manager the individual will have initial responsibility for the following areas:
? You will be the key initial point of contact for for issues such as IT support (both Hardware and Software) and other IT related issues.
? Upon logging incoming calls you will provide call filtering and first line IT support.
? Call management will be a key part of the role, as you will be responsible for escalating calls from first line support upwards, and to external partners. You will monitor calls from start to finish until they are closed.
? Various 2nd line Support duties are also part of this role.
? Direct attention towards improving structure and profiles of users and utilization of facilities available.
? The ability to grasp new concepts*ideas and convey these across to users is essential in this ever-growing, fluid organization.
? Analysis of call statistics to record trends and patterns
? Provide support and assistance with projects as directed.
Abilities and requirements
The candidate for this role must have a very good working knowledge of Windows XP and MS Office 2003, with the ability to reinstall, reconfigure and fully support. Knowledge of other MS client operating systems also an advantage. Candidates ideally must be MCP qualified or display equivalent knowledge.
The ability to administer Windows 2003 servers, fully support Microsoft Outlook in an MS Exchange 2003 environment, experience of TCP*IP networking and the ability to install most types of commonly required hardware are also highly desirable competences.
The applicant will have a keen interest in learning about software and IT systems as well as good problem diagnosis skills. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate information efficiently to other team and staff members is also critical to this position, as is a good telephone manner.
The candidate for this role will possess a full UK driving licence as they may be required to travel from time to time and must not be adverse to occasional stopovers.
Knowledge of WAN?s, VPN?s, Trend, MS CRM, MS Great Plains, FlyingSPARK, Paragon also an advantage.
Experience: 2-3 years in a similar support role.
